5 Fried Foods to Offer This Fall

Fall officially starts on September 23rd, so it’s right around the corner! Most likely, your restaurant has already started introducing seasonally appropriate foods and beverages for a fun flair, but if you haven’t, now is the time to start! At Fast Fix LLC, we know how much your customers love fried foods because we know how much time we spend repairing and maintaining commercial fryers in Mid-Missouri! Here are five fried foods that would be fun and unique to offer during this season, and who knows, you may decide to keep them on permanently!

Fried Apple Pies

It’s just not fall without serving up apples in some form. Trying out a fried apple pie recipe is the perfect way to incorporate the luxurious flavors of fall, but it’s also a fun way to serve up apples. A warm flaky crust, piping hot center of apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and even some raisins. Our mouths are already watering, it sounds so good. If you really want to serve it with a bang, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it will be perfection.

Vanilla-Scented Beignets

Mmmm, beignets. If you have ever been to New Orleans, these fried donuts are a MUST - but NOLA isn’t the only place that you’ll find them anymore. Beignets are airy donuts and can even be fried up a few hours in advance and the re-crisped in the oven before serving. What makes these special is that they have the faint, warm scent of vanilla permeating the air as a server delivers them through the restaurant and to the table. They are dusted with powdered sugar, and you can leave them as is, or serve them with festive fall dipping sauces like caramel, chocolate, apple pie filling and more.

Fried Milk

Custard feels like an under-appreciated dessert, but this may just bring them back around for good. You start by making a thick (very thick!) vanilla custard, and then let it cool for several hours. Then you cut it into squares, dip it in egg, then in flour, and fry it. It can be served hot or at room temperature. You also immediately sift cinnamon sugar over the top of them, which makes this feel like an, especially festive fall favorite.

Fried Cinnamon-Sugar Ricotta Fritters

Cheese will always be trendy, and “special” cheeses like ricotta can make a dessert feel like a million bucks. These ricotta fritters are perfect for your seasonal dessert menu. They are fluffy, light, and just sweet enough to make an impact. They are tossed in cinnamon sugar before being served hot. They can stand on their own, or you could make a delicious fall flavor dessert platter and serve them alongside.

Fried Sweet Plantains with Dulce de Leche and Chocolate

Plantains are similar to bananas and are originally from Southeast Asia. They are usually larger and tougher than banana with a much thicker skin. If you haven’t brought these into the menu before, it can be a fun way to introduce an exotic ingredient to the menu, and as we’ve covered before, exotic ingredients are VERY trendy right now!

These plantains are sliced diagonally before being fried and transferred to plates. They are then drizzled with coconut milk, dulce de leche sauce and shaved chocolate - serve them warm and be amazed.

Fry it Up This Fall

Fall seems like the perfect season to incorporate some fried foods into the menu. Warm and crispy seems like just the perfect thing for a season that is all about getting cozy and watching the leaves fall.

If you do plan to add more fried foods to the menu this season, you may want to have your fryer examined and have the commercial fryer maintenance team in Mid-Missouri come out to help. Happy Fall from the Fast Fix LLC Team! May you stay busy and cozy, and may your fryer stand up to everything you toss into it.
