People in the area are going to first and foremost want to know what you’ll be serving. After your website is up, it’s time to start promoting your restaurant. If you’ll be building, from the ground up, start up some social media and show the progress! If you’re redesigning a current space, let your potential customers see what all of the fuss is about. As you test out your menu, take photos and let people see - or better yet, let them vote!

Set Yourself Apart

If you’re starting a restaurant in a place that’s highly concentrated with amazing food, you know that this has to be a big priority. It can be tempting to fill your menu with everything you can cook, but consider focusing on specialties. You’ll want to appeal to several people within that specialty, such as allergies, or maybe kids (if you’re going for that market) - but keep it unique. Because you won’t be hosting every guest, waiting every table, or plating every order, you have to find people who care about your restaurant as much as you do. Find a way to make work fun and enjoyable. First and foremost, do thorough hiring from the start. Perform background checks, ask for references, and don’t be afraid to ask another trusted member of your staff to participate in the interviews.
