The Restaurant Equipment List You Need to See - Part 2

The kitchen is the center of your restaurant business in St. Louis. Whether you are a new restaurant, or you’ve been around for a while and want to update your equipment, you’ll want high-quality equipment. The equipment in your kitchen needs to withstand the pressures of daily use. With careful planning and research, you can increase the efficiency in your Missouri kitchen. We covered part 1 last week with items like food processors, food prep counters, slicers and more - you can check it out here. This week we’re continuing on and finishing out a list of items that you’ll want to have to round out your kitchen processes.

Ranges

This really shouldn’t come as a surprise, unless your commercial kitchen in Missouri doesn’t prepare food over an open flame. The range is going to be the powerhouse of your kitchen, so it’s important to choose one that will not only perform all of the tasks you need it to but is always meeting aesthetic needs as well. The same as residential ranges, you’ll get to choose between a gas or an electric. Gas ranges make it easier to judge heat and change from high to low settings must faster than the electric ranges. However, electric ranges have smooth, elegant, easy to clean designs.

Ovens

Most, if not all, ranges will be with an oven as well. If your operation centers around baked goods, you may want to do in-depth research on the best model to choose. One thing to consider would be investing in a convection oven. Unlike a regular oven, a convection oven will have a fan and exhaust system that blows hot air around the food. This is a wonderful addition if you will roasting, toasting, making pies, cookies, or dehydrating.

If you’ll be focusing on foods like custards, cakes, and bread, you will be just fine with a regular oven. No matter what your focus, if your facility uses heat to prepare food, you are required to have appropriate ventilation equipment installed. This can include range hoods, makeup air units, HVAC systems and more. All of these are areas where Fast Fix LLC has experience and would be honored to assist.

Sinks

A sink is a vital piece of equipment for any kitchen, merely just because they provide running water. They are also where you will be washing food and dishes. It's important to check with your health authorities, because there may be requirements on the type of sink you use. Many require a triple-sink wash station and a commercial dishwashing unit.

Shelving

You’re going to need somewhere to store various appliances in your kitchen, not to mention perishable and non-perishable food items. An organized storage system can help improve your kitchen operation, make it more streamlined, and also appeal to aesthetic needs.

Safety Equipment

One of the final pieces of equipment that you should keep in the forefront of your mind is safety equipment, and really, this should be one of the first. You want to make sure that you and your team have the proper safety equipment, and check the guidelines with your local fire department before purchasing andy fire, safety, or sanitation equipment.
